Product Search

Parts & Supplies Product Search feature is the next generation of WebCATS.  This feature allows you to search for parts in a number of ways.  These include searches by the following:

 

NOTE: Model number, serial number, sales order number, and type/device number searches access top level information and require you to drill down to the needed part.  Part number (including non-WebCATS), part description (including non-WebCATS), supplier/vendor number, and drawing/code number searches access the part level directly and allow you to choose the part from those listed on-screen. 

 

How to search by model number

  1. Navigate to the Product Search area (the top left of the Parts & Supplies page).  Select Model Number from the dropdown menu. 

 

  1. Enter the model number into the search field.  The search can be for exact information or partial with wildcard symbols. 

Refer to the How to do a partial search section for more information. 

 

  1. Once the information is entered, click Search.

 

 

 

 

  1. The Search Results area populates (the Product Categories area minimizes).  The search pulls model numbers, which are further divided into assemblies, and sub-assemblies.  Click the arrow icons () to display subordinate data tiers. 

 

NOTE: Mousing over the model number displays at-a-glance details pulled from WebCATS. 

 

 

 

  1. To access top level, assemblies, or sub-assemblies (if available), click the model, assembly, or sub-assembly the Search Results area.

 

Display an individual model

Click the appropriate model to view.  Data display of details occurs in the center pane. 

 

Display an individual assembly

In the Search Results area, click the icon to the left of the model number, and click the appropriate assembly.   Data display of details occurs in the center pane. 

 

Display an individual sub-assembly

In the Search Results area, click the icon to the left of the assembly, and click the appropriate sub-assembly.  Data display of details occurs in the center pane. 

 

 

  1. The selected top level, assembly, or sub-assembly displays in the center pane, which is divided into two segments: Model Number Information and Parts List. 

 

NOTE: Click either the Model Number Information or Parts List header (in the center pane) to display.  Clicking the View link expands the header. 

 

Options in the center pane include:

 

Model Number Information

View unit information

 

Click the radio button to the left of Unit Info (selected by default). 

 

Click the icon (located in the top right the pane).  Make the appropriate selections (range plus text and/or graphics) based on printing needs.   

 

View product literature

Click the radio button to the left of Product Lit.  Select the appropriate literature from the Literature Type Filter dropdown menu. 

 

Click the icon to select and view a PDF copy of the selected product literature.

 

Print model number information

Click the icon.  Make the appropriate selections (range plus text and/or graphics) based on printing needs. 

 

 

 

Parts List Information

View a universal parts list for the model

 

Click the Parts List header.  A complete list of part numbers displays. 

 

NOTE: This information is also known as the Total Index for the model. 

 

View the total index of parts for the model

NOTE: Known as Assm. Index in assembly or sub-assembly situations

 

Click the radio button to the left of Total Index (selected by defaults upon accessing Parts List).  All parts associated with the model display in the Parts List Information area.

 

View parts indexed as functional parts

NOTE: Known as Assm. Functional in assembly or sub-assembly situations

 

Click the radio button to the left of Functional Parts.  All parts indexed as functional parts display in the Parts List Information area. 

 

Search through list by keywords

 

In the Keyword Search area, select the appropriate search filter from the dropdown menu (Description, Part Number, or Note).  Type the keyword in the search field and click the Go button. 

Parts & Supplies will search for the in selected column information (Description, Part Number, or Note) for the keyword(s) provided. 

 

View individual part details

Click the linked text in the Part Number column.  Part details display.  Refer to How to view part details for more information. 

 

Add select parts to a WCR form

Select one or more parts by selecting the checkboxes to the left of the individual part numbers.  Click to select. 

Then click the icon.  The part number is carried over to the WCR form and pre-populated along with user information.

NOTE: WCR can be accessed at any time by clicking the Warranty Credit Request (WCR) link in the global header. 

 

Add part(s) to cart

Select one or more parts by selecting the checkboxes to the left of the individual part numbers.  Click to select.  Then click the icon.  The parts are stored in the shopping cart. 

 

Export part list

Click the icon.  The complete parts list (regardless of selections) exports into a .csv file. 

 

Print part list

Click the icon.  Make the appropriate selections (range plus text and/or graphics) based on printing needs. 

 

 

 

 

 

How to search by part number

How to search by part description

How to search by serial number

  1. Navigate to the Product Search area (the top left of the Parts & Supplies page).  Select Serial Number from the dropdown menu. 

 

  1. Select the database to search.  Click the radio button to the left of the appropriate database to select.  The databases include:

 

SIL: To search the Shipped History Information Library database

 

EMA: To search for parts from Europe

 

ABS/CLCH/CTV: To search through shipments posted prior to 1981

 

  1. Enter the serial number into the search field.  The search can be for exact information or partial with wildcard symbols.  Refer to the How to do a partial search section for more information. 

 

  1. Once the database and serial number are entered, click Search.

 

 

  1. The Search Results area populates (the Product Categories area minimizes).  The search pulls serial numbers, which are further divided into assemblies, and sub-assemblies.  Click the arrow icons () to display subordinate data tiers. 

 

NOTE: Mousing over the model number displays at-a-glance details pulled from WebCATS. 

 

 

 

  1. To access top level, assemblies, or sub-assemblies (if available), click the model, assembly, or sub-assembly the Search Results area.

 

Display an individual model

In the Search Results area, click the icon to the left of the serial number, and click the appropriate model.  Data display of details occurs in the center pane. 

 

NOTE: Serial numbers cannot be viewed.  Serial numbers are a means of retrieving model numbers, which accesses model details. 

 

Display an individual assembly

In the Search Results area, click the icon to the left of the model number, and click the appropriate assembly.   Data display of details occurs in the center pane. 

 

Display an individual sub-assembly

In the Search Results area, click the icon to the left of the assembly, and click the appropriate sub-assembly.  Data display of details occurs in the center pane. 

 

 

  1. The selected top level, assembly, or sub-assembly displays in the center pane, which is divided into two segments: Model Number Information and Parts List. 

 

NOTE: Click either the Model Number Information or Parts List header (in the center pane) to display.  Clicking the View link expands the header.

Model Number Information

View unit information

 

Click the radio button to the left of Unit Info (selected by default). 

 

Click the icon (located in the top right the pane).  Make the appropriate selections (range plus text and/or graphics) based on printing needs.   

 

View product literature

Click the radio button to the left of Product Lit.  Select the appropriate literature from the Literature Type Filter dropdown menu. 

 

Click the icon to select and view a PDF copy of the selected product literature.

 

View warranty information

Click the radio button to the left of Warranty.  Select the appropriate literature from the Literature Type Filter dropdown menu. 

 

Further searches into Residential Product Registration and Residential and Light Commercial Extended Warranties can be conducted.  Click the respective link to search. 

 

View sales order number information

Click the radio button to the left of Sales Order Number.  This option allows you to view either basic or additional (links to products, components, and models) sales order information. 

 

Print model number information

Click the icon.  Make the appropriate selections (range plus text and/or graphics) based on printing needs. 

 

 

 

Parts List Information

View a universal parts list for the model

 

Click the Parts List header.  A complete list of part numbers displays. 

 

NOTE: This information is also known as the Total Index for the model. 

 

View the total index of parts for the model

  1. Enter the part number into the search field.  The search can be for exact information or partial with wildcard symbols.

Select one or more parts by selecting the checkboxes to the left of the individual part numbers.  Click to select.  Then click the icon.  The parts are stored in the shopping cart.

Click the icon.  The complete parts list (regardless of selections) exports into a .csv file. 

 

 

NOTE: Unit Info is only available for model number, serial number, sales order number, and type/device number information. 

 

How to do a partial search

Enter the known portions of the search criteria in the search field.  This information is generally the first three to four characters.  Follow the entered characters with a %. 

 

When entering the information, either begin the partial search data with a % (if the information is somewhere within the number) OR end the partial search data with a % (if the information begins the number). 

NOTE: Not all searches allow partial searches.  Sales Order Number, Drawing/Code Number, and Type/Device Number do NOT allow partial searches.
